Project Description

Restoration of prestigious parquet flooring in Listed building,  in the hearth of London. The original flooring consists of premium grade herringbone parquet flooring with marquetry borders and details around the perimeter. The flooring work required extensive repairs and restoration of fragments of the border and the parquet blocks. Following the repairs the entire flooring in three grand halls have been sanded back to bare wood. All open gaps and cracks has been gap filled using mix of resin and sawdust. The flooring has been polished with buffing machine in order to achieve smooth finish. Application of one coat of primer, followed by three coats of clear, Heavy Duty, commercial grade lacquer for extra protection.
